- About -
My first memory of creating something in wood was as a young child when my grandfather showed me how to build a simple wooden toy waterwheel. We placed it in the little creek that ran through a meadow on his farm. That moment of excitement as the water started to spin the wheel is the same feeling I still get every time I begin creating a new piece.
Over fifty years later, I still revel in this work every time I step into my shop... and now there is also a peace that comes... from the motion of the tools as the wood is slowly and carefully refined under hand. There is wonder as parts are fitted and the project gradually comes together… and invariably there is satisfaction when beholding the finished piece.
This is the joy of working wood.
